Portulaca (moss rose)

Height: 4-8 inches

Flowers: 1 inch wide

Position: Full sun

Soil: Average to dry soil

Planting out: Once soil has warmed

Spacing: 12 inches

 

The soil should be of poor fertility, sandy, and well drained. Portulacas are the ideal plants for spots that just don't get enough water.  As long as the location is sunny, these plants will do well with minimal care.
